Beachfront – POEM

Bright lights, dark skies
Heart beats feeling like butterflies
Slow walks on the docks
Thoughts of hellos and past good byes
Sips of salty Air
Grains of sand settled everywhere
Stepping on the beach
Reminds me that my feet are bare
Grains drift like seagulls
A guy trips
Another runs by with his two beagles
The wave that starts out at sea
Ends inside me
It defines me
Keeps me lively
Like the beach my surfaces are solid
Beyond the shores
My waters roll wildly
Ebbing and flowing
Throughout the cycles of life
Affected by my pleasures
Moved by my strife
Chilly waters reach my feet
But the water isn’t cold
Its reminiscent
Of the temps of my soul
